Chicago’s Design Industry Opens Doors
Oscar Isberian Rugs was a proud sponsor of last night’s blowout “Another Door Opens,” the much-anticipated, design industry event (Jan. 18, 2017) at Architectural Artifacts, which aims to raise essential funds for Chicago House programs. Last year, the fundraiser welcomed more than 550 people and grossed over $50,000. The stylish crowd at last night’s event, a veritable who’s who of the Chicago design industry, easily could top that.
For 2017, Architectural Artifacts gave vintage doors to 60 of the city’s best artists, interior designers and architects and asked them to create something completely new. The designer “doors” on display artfully were transformed into case goods, seating, lighting, tables, wall art, sculptures and more, and auctioned off with 100-percent of the proceeds going to Chicago House.
Chicago House and Social Service agency serves individuals and families who are disenfranchised by HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ marginalization, poverty, homelessness, and/or gender nonconformity by providing housing, employment services, medical linkage and retention services, HIV prevention services, legal services and other supportive programs.
This has become a tony, must-attend event with a message of hope and inclusion. The team at Oscar Isberian Rugs is proud to take part. Don’t miss next year’s event.
