Road Trip to Wyoming

An Oscar Isberian Blog by Mesrop Darian*

Jackson Hole Wyoming is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit.  A Lake Forest customer I’ve known for many years is building an incredible home in the mountains and asked Oscar Isberian Rugs to help with rugs.

The job started a full year ago when the client had her Jackson, Wyoming-based design team — the highly esteemed firm WRJ Interior Design — flown east to Chicago. The showing took place at our Oscar Isberian Evanston showroom.

The house in Jackson Hole is filled with wide open spaces surrounded by windows, letting the strong western light and mountain views inform the interior. Finding just the right rugs in large sizes required us to get creative with some spectacular customization.

In the end, the client and designers hand-selected five exquisite room-defining rugs, including a 12’x16′ piece for the dining room, a 13’x20′ for the family room and a light-colored, all-silk, 15’x25′ piece, which is so special, so precious, we wouldn’t job-out this installation to anyone else. After our job was complete, the furniture truck was nipping at our heals, waiting at the door to turn a shell of walls into a home.

Lucky for me, my daughter, Nicole was there to witness one of my favorite installs to date. It was the first time either of us had been to Wyoming. What a perk to be able to build memories to last a lifetime. We toured the foothills of the Grand Teton mountains, took in the sites of the Jackson Hole valley and enjoyed a spot of wine lakeside.

If you have an out-of-state project you’re working on, call me at Oscar Isberian Rugs in Evanston. Nicole and I are looking forward to our next adventure.
